Crying and crying responses: A comparative exploration of pragmatic socialization in a Swedish and Japanese preschool

This paper explores pragmatic socialization by examining episodes of two to three - year-old children’s crying and adults’ responses this in preschools: Sweden Japan. Based on approximately 100 hours naturally occurring interactions, it focuses that emerged within peer conflict, analyzes ways teachers structured a triadic framework mediation.
